Forward.Vision™ division of Aerocomp Inc. offers FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) Camera System for General Aviation

-Affordable system will enhance safety for general aviation as it does for the military-

Merritt Island, Florida- August 2, 2004- Forward.Vision™, a partially owned division of Aerocomp. Inc.  announces that a new forward looking infrared camera system has completed its flight testing and is ready for shipments to the general aviation marketplace.  This non-certificated system has been carefully constructed to withstand the rigors of flight and has a heated infrared lens, sealed sensor unit and is designed specifically for the pressure differentials seen during flights. This infrared sensor does not degrade in the presence of sun light as is frequently seen with competing systems. Company owners, Patrick Farrell along with Ron Lueck and Stephen Young (also of Aerocomp. Inc) are pleased to offer this product to the experimental market while certification is completed. It is envisioned that many will opt for 337 field approvals for installation of this unit while certification proceeds. Pricing for this system is US$19,995 and compares favorably with competitive systems that sell for US$84,000.

Infrared technology fills a number of critical roles for fire and police departments. Many military aircraft depend on these systems daily to improve vision in lower visibility conditions such as “night”, smoke, haze, fog and light precipitation. “Improving aviation safety is critical to all, and our system will fill an important void in the industry. This system will save lives” stated Young.
